Red Dwarf is the collaboration of Bay Area, Los Angeles and Chicago-based visual artists and technicians Derek Knowles and Spencer Seibert.
Derek Knowles is a California-based documentary lmmaker, cinematographer, and producer. He has worked for outlets like National Geographic, Netflix, and CNN, and with Academy Award-nominated filmmakers Richard Robbins and Bill Guttentag. He graduated from Stanford University in 2011, idolizes cats and Les Blank, and speaks middling Italian, worse Spanish, and embarrassing French.
Spencer Seibert is an award-winning director, editor, and motion designer. He found early success with his undergrad thesis film, "Where It Stops," which won Best Student Film at Big Bear Lake Film Festival. Since then, he has created national broadcast spots for brands including Nike and Google, collaborated on music videos with artists including Will.i.am and Aerosmith, and directed documentary pieces for the Latino Community Foundation and Stanford University.
